First invented in 1922, kitchen blenders have been an enormously popular small kitchen appliance for decades. Blenders can mix, crush, purée or emulsify food as well as food ingredients. A blender consists of a large glass, high speed rotating metal blades at the bottom, and is powered by an electric motor that resides in the base of the unit. Some powerful models can also crush ice and other frozen foods. Blenders are ideal for smoothies, frozen cocktails, mixing pancake or waffle batter, making homemade baby food, mixing eggs and or added ingredients before cooking, making homemade sauces and dressings, and much more!
