The refrigerator is an essential home appliance and it’s estimated 99.8% of all households have at least one refrigerator. Refrigeration is the most popular way to store and preserve food throughout the entire world. Most refrigerators also have a built-in freezer that preserves food for extended periods of time from a few months to over a year if necessary. They are available in just about any size and color you want. Most refrigerators in the 40s and 50s were white in color. As the decade of the 60s came around, colors changed a bit, and believe it or not, pink was a popular color! When we moved into the 80s, black was enormously pop[ular and buyers would often purchase a black stove to match. The last major color trend was in the 90s when stainless steel became the most purchased finish and color. There are three or four dozen refrigerator brands. Popular brands include GE, Frigidaire, Whirlpool, and LG, among others.
